What $54,165 buys, per truck
There is no upper bound to this bracket, so the per-vehicle cost keeps falling as the fleet grows: $54.11 a vehicle at 1,001 vehicles, $27.08 at 2,000 and $10.83 at 5,000. For context the smallest bracket, B1, costs a two-truck carrier $27.50 a truck, so the largest carriers pay a fraction of the per-vehicle rate the smallest ones do.
The edges of bracket B6
Below: there is nothing below B6. Zero vehicles is still B6.
Above: one vehicle past puts you in bracket B1 (0–2 vehicles) at $55, a step of $-54,110. The step is modest at this end of the schedule; the brackets widen sharply further up.
Past a thousand: the top of the schedule
For carriers with more than 1,000 commercial motor vehicles, UCR is $54,165 a year, paid once through the base state regardless of how many states the fleet operates in. The per-vehicle figure keeps falling without limit — $54.11 at the bottom of the bracket — because the schedule has no B7. The 2027 increase here was the largest in absolute terms, $9,329, or 20.8 percent — in line with the 20 percent average across the schedule.
