About Motor Carrier Desk

Motor Carrier Desk turns the fee schedules and rules that FMCSA, the UCR Plan, the IRS and IFTA, Inc. publish into calculators and state pages, each figure cited to its source.

How the site works

The fee schedules come from the agencies that set them — the UCR Plan and FMCSA's Federal Register rule for UCR, the IRS for Form 2290, IFTA, Inc. for fuel-tax rates, and the eCFR for filing fees and driver qualification standards. Each record in the site's data files carries its source URL and the date it was checked, the calculators are pure functions tested against the agencies' own worked examples, and pages are rebuilt from the data rather than edited by hand. The methodology page lists every file, formula and exclusion.

Who it is for

Owner-operators and small fleet owners working out what registration will cost; dispatchers and brokers checking a carrier; drivers due for a medical card. It is not legal or tax advice, and the cited source always controls.

Corrections

If a figure is wrong or a source has changed, email hello@motorcarrierdesk.com with the page and a link. Corrections go into the data file and the check date updates with the next build.
